YLA Fall Program
For over 10 years Youth Leadership America has connected thousands of students over 40 different high schools across Southern California. YLA has been providing students with opportunities to develop and build their own leadership ability by connecting to community and business leaders from all around. YLA is truly a unique leadership program where we allow students to design and implement their own contribution to the community using their set of hard and soft skills learned through the duration of the program.
What You Will Learn
Over the course of twenty-five weeks, you will have the opportunity to meet and work with students from all around. Together, we will begin to understand and improve on hard and soft skills of a leader such as: public speaking, self-confidence, communication, servant leadership, stress management, and much more. In addition, you will be interacting with dozens of community leaders and mentors in order to gain perspective on skills we have learned through the week.
Who Can Apply?
Whether you have been nominated by a teacher, student, parents, if you have a passion for improving your leadership ability to make an impact in your community, YLA wants you. YLA has lived and thrived through the notion that leaders are made, not born.
We look forward to reading your applications. Good Luck!
The Fall program is a classroom style leadership training course from September 2018 to February 2019 every Wednesday from 6pm to 8:15pm.
We will have occasional meetings on Saturday and the associates will be notified ahead of time.
